GREEN SUPPORT
Great news! WWF is now on the Grab platform, which means that Grab users can donate their GrabRewards points to WWF. The programme has rolled out in 8 countries including: Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand.

From March to August 2019, by exchanging 230 GrabRewards points, supporters can contribute VND10,000 to help protect wildlife in Vietnam.

The Asian elephant and saola, two of Vietnam's most iconic species, face increasing threats to their existence due to poaching, habitat destruction, and the illegal wildlife trade.

You have a chance to play a part in helping safeguard these endangered wildlife and the places they call home. If you use Grab, donate your GrabRewards points to WWF and help prolong our efforts to restore the habitats of these threatened animals, in addition to improving the capacity of protected area staff and engaging local communities in wildlife conservation.

#EarthHour2019: Commitment to act for nature

We did it again! Millions of people from 188 countries and territories participated in what was another momentous Earth Hour, showing that #NatureMatters and demonstrating their commitment to care for nature and to #Connect2Earth.
Standing with WWF this year was the zealous BOO joint-stock company, a fashion brand expressing Vietnamese street culture for young people, who has run their “Lights off, Ideas up” campaign since 2010. Marking its 10-year anniversary of taking part in the Earth Hour campaign, BOO brought another inspiring campaign with the message “Small change every day for the Earth” to urge communities to protect environment together starting from the simplest behaviours, therefore forming a green lifestyle for communities. With technical support from WWF, BOO was successful in engaging a large number of celebrities, youth and the general public in their social media campaign, raising awareness on some of the most pressing environmental issues including sustainable energy, plastic waste reduction and air pollution.
This example and more, from different individuals, communities, cities and countries, demonstrates the unified strength of Earth Hour, and how we can effectively use it as a platform for positive action on not only climate change, as we have for several years, but also for a wide array of issues relating to biodiversity and nature. We have certainly come a long way!
