Hi foodie friends and home cooks! May continues to be a super busy month for us as we try to harvest for markets and our new CSA, try to keep weeds and pests (both increasing!) under control, and get more plantings of our summer crops (peppers, eggplants, squash, cucumbers, beans...etc.) in the ground. We finally got around to trellising the tomatoes in the high tunnel - thanks to Farmer Olivia for snapping the photos below of trellising in action (including Farmer Erik on stilts!).
Also below, meet Farmer Olivia, who joined us this spring for the 2019 season. We'll introduce you to Farmer Grace, our other farm team member, next week!
Hope to see you at market tomorrow or Sunday.
T
hank you for supporting your local farmers!

Farmer Intro!
We're super excited to have Olivia on the Dicot Farm team this year! While new to farming, she puts her soul into everything she does here on the farm and we so appreciate her positive outlook, which helps keep us all motivated! Olivia is a huge fan of green beans and not so much of mushrooms, and in the photo above is demonstrating the simplest way to eat our radishes.

When not farming, Olivia is an amazing pastry chef (as demonstrated by a scrumptious vegan lemon rosemary cake with blueberry sauce that the farm team got to eat a couple weeks ago) and, among many other talents, likes to knit and sing (including great spontaneous songs about vegetables while we're harvesting).
