Dear Parents
We hope you enjoy reading today's news from Bury Grammar School as we go into the half term break.
Sixth Form
We said a fond 'farewell' to Mr Prest today as he leaves us to move to a new role. We would like to thank him for everything he has done for our sixth formers and we wish him all the best at his new school.
Mrs Hammond and Mr Newbury are excited to be taking over as Head and Deputy Head of Sixth Form respectively after half term. If you missed the interview with them earlier this year, you can find it again here. the Sixth Form will be in very good hands indeed!
Mathematics Faculty
We hope you're enjoy the interview series with our new Heads of Faculty. Please find here an article on a key area in the school: the Mathematics Faculty.
T-Rex visits Year 1
Year 1 had a special visitor on Tuesday as part of their dinosaur topic - Sophie the Tyrannosaurus Rex! The children could hear footsteps coming through the Infant School foyer, resulting in squeals of excitement and trepidation. You can watch her walk through our Infant School here.
Founders' Day video
We are really excited to share with you a video of this year’s Founders’ Day. It may have been a rainy morning (something which has previously been unheard of for Founders’ Day) but the pride of our staff and pupils and the warmth of our Bury Grammar School community shone through. We hope you enjoy the video here, which gives a great insight into this year’s celebrations.
The coming half term
June and July 2019 promise to be exciting and activity packed months for all of us at Bury Grammar School. News about taster days, prize givings, concerts and sports days will follow when we return. You can also view our calendar here.
We wish you all a restful and relaxing half term break - hopefully, with some sun!
Mrs J Anderson, Principal of BGS and Headmistress of BGSG
