YLS recognized at the Sustainable Peterborough Awards!

Kawartha World Issues Centre, Trent University and Fleming College were awarded by Sustainable Peterborough for their efforts in combating Climate Change. This partnership piloted the Youth Leadership in Sustainability (YLS) program; an innovative 1-semester program that prepares grade 11 and 12 students for leadership roles in sustainability initiatives at the local and global levels. It provides youth with the confidence and tools they need to address issues such as climate change.

YLS is a partnership with the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board, Trent University, the Kawartha World Issues Centre (KWIC) and Fleming College. Their
classroom is on Trent University campus and at PCVS, and the program takes students into the community, the forests and the region!
