Top Three 5/24/19: Congress Moves to Expand 529s

1. NECA-Supported Bill on 529 Savings Plans Reintroduced in Senate

One of NECA’s top legislative priorities was reintroduced in the Senate on May 22, 2019. Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) introduced S.1623, which would allow 529 savings accounts to be used for apprenticeship programs. NECA CEO David Long issued a statement of support for the legislation, which was included in Senator Daines’ press release.

2. NECA Contractor Bob Dagostino Published Op-ed for Infrastructure Week

NECA Contractor Bob Dagostino of Dagostino Electronic Services, Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA wrote a nationally published Op-ed in conjunction with Infrastructure Week 2019.
