This week a study by Google and various US medical centres shows how AI can be used to detect lung cancer, The National Institution for Transforming India announces a 7,500 crore investment plan for the development of AI infrastructure in the country and AI startup Prowler.io is valued at $100m after a funding round led by Tencent.
Forty-two countries have adopted a new set of artificial intelligence principles established by The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
The new principles establish the first international public policy about AI, setting guidelines on both business and private use of the technology.

A study by Google and various US medical centres has shown how AI can be used to detect lung cancer and provide doctors with more accurate CT scans readings.
The researchers compared the results of the AI system with those of six board-certified US radiologists with up to 20 years of clinical experience each.
Niti Aayog proposes $1B plan for AI development in India
The National Institution for Transforming India announced today a 7,500 crore investment plan for the development of AI infrastructure in the country.
The funding will go towards the setting up of five centres of research excellence, 20 international centres for transformational AI and further developments of AIRAWAT.
Cambridge-based AI company Prowler.io has been valued at $100 million after a $24 million funding round by investors including Amadeus Capital and Pearson Plc.
The company said the new investment will go towards launching products and moving into new areas such as education.
