Gov. Jared Polis signs bills that will continue fight against opioid crisis

New measures will boost prevention efforts and treatment and recovery services

Months of hard work at the State Capitol culminated with Gov. Jared Polis signing six bills that will give Colorado more resources to fight the opioid epidemic and address substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery support services.

The governor signed six bills related to substance use treatment and mental health during a signing ceremony on May 23. The ceremony was at Sobriety House, a drug and alcohol treatment center in Denver.

The Colorado General Assembly wrote and passed the bills during the legislative session that ended in May.

More information about the new laws can be found in the Consortium's review of the session
