We've brought some new sponsors onboard!

Our network will be spreading the word about some more great organizations.
Unit B Coworking
The Alberta Blue Cross Wellness Summit
You may already have heard our podcasters talking about Unit B Coworking, which happens to serve as APN's headquarters in Edmonton. Learn more about what makes it a great place to work, and what Radiolab's Robert Krulwich has to do with making us feel particularly welcome, on the blog.

You will soon be hearing our podcasters talking about The Alberta Blue Cross Wellness Summit, which is coming to Edmonton on Oct. 10. This year's theme is workplace wellness, and the summit is set up to be an inspiring day that sends you home with practical advice that you can apply right away, whether you're the boss or a frontline worker. Learn more at TheWellnessSummit.ca.

We're also running a campaign over the next few months with Alberta Health Services, focused on helping Albertans understand when to use emergency services and when to seek alternatives.

More and more Canadians are listening to podcasts, as the latest Infinite Dial Canada study reported this week, and most listen to most or all of the podcasts they download. It's a great way to reach people that are hard to reach otherwise, in a way that they remember.

If you have a business or organization that would benefit from advertising on Alberta-made podcasts, get in touch! We'd love to help.

APN survey
As we mentioned last week, we'd like to invite you to share your experience on our listener survey, which you can find at albertapodcastnetwork.com/survey.

The deadline is 11:59 p.m. on June 17. If you fill out the survey, you can put your name in for a draw for one of three cash prizes of $100.

(If you ran into any trouble last week entering your name and email address, the bug has been fixed. If the survey won't let you try again, email us at hello@albertapodcastnetwork.com and we'll get it straightened out.)

APN news

  • Luiza Campos of A Branded World is working with the Calgary Foundation to offer two free workshops to registered charities in the Calgary area on how to find your "why" story and drive action.
  • If you want to kick a ball around with some of our soccer podcasters, or raise a glass with them afterwards, you're invited to a kickabout and pub night on May 25.
  • The whole I Have Some Notes crew appeared on Flicks XRayed to talk about xXx.  That's a lot of Xs. Tony of Flicks XRayed is currently running away with the Rotten Tomater Prognosticator.
  • Dave Cournoyer lists a whole bunch of political staffers who have been hired to work for the new UCP government, including a couple of voices you've heard on Daveberta.
  • PopCycle is on a break, but you can catch co-host Christian Zyp on CJSR and the Moving Radio podcast.

And...

  • It's kind of fun to ask the new Podfinder chatbot for a podcast recommendation. It operates in Facebook Messenger.
  • Betabrand hosts weekly live podcasts in a San Francisco store, reports Forbes. Know any businesses in Alberta who'd want to do this? We're interested.
  • We learn stuff like this from Podnews, which is definitely worth subscribing to.
