We need at least 40 more households to sign up for Internet service in order for our network to be sustainable and for us to maintain the current pricing. Watch our thermometer sign outside the town offices to track our progress: good = 220 subscribers; better = 280 subscribers; best = 380 subscribers (or the entire town!).

Here are three things you can do to help our town reach this goal:

  1. Sign up today if you haven't done so yet! It takes just a minute and no deposit is required. Click here to sign up.
  2. Tell your neighbors about the June 30 sign-up deadline, and remind them that even if they don't want Internet service now, they should still sign up for fiber to be brought to the outside of their home so that their home is Internet-ready for the future.
  3. Send us a note at broadband@town.plainfield.ma.us if you have some spare time and can help with some volunteer tasks at our hub (landscaping, grass-seeding, and generally tidying up). We’ll be scheduling volunteer work parties in the coming weeks.
Thanks to Mike Melle for the loan of our “lineman” in front of the town offices! It takes a village to promote our network, and it will take all of us to sustain it over time.

As always, thanks for your support!

Plainfield Broadband is a community-owned Internet service. The town is building this fiber-optic network to ensure our long-term viability. This network is designed to reach every home and business and will last at least 40 years. Our network is capable of being expanded for future generations and is designed to accommodate technology that has not yet been invented. It will be truly future-proof, which is important given the rapid decline of Verizon’s phone and Internet network in our area.
Please forward this message to your friends and neighbors to share this news and encourage them to sign up for Plainfield Broadband alerts. If you would prefer not to stay up-to-date on this important town infrastructure project, simply unsubscribe.
