When you volunteer, everyone wins
Summer Reading Volunteer applications have closed for this year. Check our website next Spring Break for summer 2020 positions!
There are few spots for summer-only volunteering in any department. Most have filled. We are accepting applications for positions with a six-month commitment.
Circulation: Sort and shelve library materials. Openings at Bethany and Cedar Mill Libraries. Ages 14+.
Technical Services: Process new books according to library procedure: stamps, labels, covers. Strict attention to detail and careful hands required.
Tuesdays, 9-11am.
Book Check-in: Check in books for Bookshare, our children’s outreach program that provides books to kids in care, facilitating the sharing of books with young children at childcare sites.
Wednesdays, 11am-1pm.
Game Assistant for Library After Hours Events: Who says games are just for kids? Adults play, too! Volunteer to be a Game Assistant for a 21+ game night at a local pub to promote the library in the community, particularly among patrons in their 20's and 30's. Help set up and play board games and video games, engage the attendees, and help clean up.
One Sunday per month, 5-9:30pm. Ages 21+.
2nd Edition: If you can spot a diamond in the rough, have a sense of the “going rate” for good stuff, or love to engage with customers, you will enjoy volunteering at 2nd Edition as a sorter, pricer or cashier. Great for the community, great on a resume!
Weekday and weekend shifts, Ages 15+.
