Time to hang loose and come together for Lakewood's annual summer kick-off event! This year, travel back in time with us to 1969 in celebration of Lakewood's 50th Anniversary for an evening full of live music, family fun and an outdoor movie.

Wear your flower-power fashions for the best dressed competition, celebrate the 1969 moon landing with astronaut-themed activities, enjoy a hay wagon ride, balloon twisting, face painting and so much more!

Campfire Programs at Bear Creek Lake Park
Saturdays starting June 15

Gather around to hear campfire stories, roast marshmallows and learn about bats, falcons, carnivores, stars, wildfires and more. Learn about a new topic every week this summer. Some programs feature live animals or special guests! Free program; park pass required.

Summer Camp: Want to learn even more about nature and have adventures in the great outdoors? There are a few spots still available in the Bear Creek Lake Park naturalist summer camp for ages 10-13. Sign up now!

Rockies Skills Challenge
Saturday, June 8
Free to kids ages 6-13

Test your skills in base running, batting and throwing. Winners advance to the sectional event with the chance to compete in the state championship.

Check-in at 11:30 a.m. at Carmody Middle School fields, 2050 S. Kipling St. Participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and complete an entry form.
