Marc Gunn proudly describes his work as "Sci Fi Drinking Songs." He is best known to geek fandom for his songs that lift the heart of any Browncoat: Firefly Drinking Songs with Bedlam Bards in 2011, and most recently his 2018 album, As Long as I'm Flyin'. His career started as the autoharp-wielding half of the Brobdingnagian Bards, where he performed at the Oscar party for The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. As a solo artist, he has hosted the long-running and award-winning Irish & Celtic Music Podcast, and released albums inspired by his love of both Celtic music and Science Fiction/Fantasy.

We are delighted to have the ShakeUps returning to SBI this year!

Always a favorite with attendees, they play power-pop songs about cartoons and pop culture that get their audience up and off their feet! (Including other guests of the convention - ask them about dancing with Sandy Gimpel last year!) The band's live repertoire includes songs from and inspired by a variety of animated series, such as Steven Universe, Teen Titans, My Little Pony, The Powerpuff Girls, Sailor Moon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and more.
On June 7, they are releasing a brand new album, Meddling Kids, which they describe as a "Saturday morning cartoon-fueled power-pop extravaganza". It includes songs inspired by animation old and new, and pays special tribute to the 50 year anniversary of Scooby Doo.
