Weekly Update - June 6, 2019
Dear <<First Name>>,

We are fortunate to work with TA providers who are experts in their field and are producing essential content to inform the opioid safety movement. Andy Krackov, TA provider for the "How to Tell a Story With Your Data" series, co-authored, Visualizing the Opioid Epidemic. The article includes ten recommendations for improving data-driven communication about the opioid epidemic. Click below to read the article, summary, and watch an accompanying video for the article.

This month we are wrapping up Andy's TA series, and we will share some of the final data stories and visualizations that your peer Accelerator coalition members created.

James Wilson, coordinator for the Northern Sierra Opioid Safety Coalition, has firsthand experience with setting up a state-certified SSP in Plumas County, and generously offered to be a resource for any coalitions looking to start an SSP in California. If you would like to connect with James, please email Amy Max (amax@healthleadership.org).

Opioids in the News

(New York Times)

The author calls them "Generation O: the children whose families are trapped in a relentless grip of addiction, rehab and prison." This article reports from ground zero of the opioid epidemic in southern Ohio, but to bring the issue of how children are affected by the opioid epidemic back to California, see this report from California Child Welfare Co-Investment Partnership.
