EGYPTIAN HIEROGLYPHS + MORE In ancient times, a cartouche was carved in stone to ensure protection and good luck to those whose names were engraved into it. We'll have artifacts to handle and clay hieroglyph stamps for creating your own cartouche as a perfect wall hanging. Recommended for age 6+.
BOOKS & JOURNALS
Make a perfect one-of-a-kind gift or a notebook for yourself that you can carry in your back pocket to have with you anytime, anywhere. Fill it with lists, project ideas, doodles, poetry, dreams, illustrations, or start your next novel in it! Please register for your space.
LET'S DYE! Transform a piece of plain white cotton cloth into a unique resist-dyed art work and wall hanging to take home, while weaving together history, science, math, and folk art. Please register for your space.
Peopleologie will be downtown showing some of its educational projects and processes offered for all ages. Come by, pick up flyers to share, and say hello!
Celebrate trains during this fun, free day of making with other museums and cultural organizations. With Peopleologie you'll make a mixed media accordion style folding book to create your own transcontinental or imaginary journey!
Use our hand carved blocks representing symbols and hieroglyphs used in Mexico and Central America -- and go home with a clay wall hanging plaque, and a note about what your chosen hieroglyph symbolizes!
Learn how to use your fingers as knitting needles! With concentration, some dexterity, and a bit of yarn, you can create an armband, necklace, or headband, your choice!
NATIVE CALIFORNIA CANOES & RAFTS During the Art Center's celebration of native Ohlone groups there will be art exhibits, plein-air painting, and hands-on activities. Make a canoe or raft from native plants and float it in your favorite body of water or tub. More details will be on their website closer to the date.
Peopleologie is about people, places, and things made by hand.
Hands-on workshops for all ages and abilities promote cultural literacy, celebrate community, and build connections to the world through the humanities, history, physical and social sciences, math, cultural arts, and hand crafting traditions.
