Further afield
Several recent downpours will have gladdened the hearts of the gardeners among you, but have no worries should we have rain for the White Rose Festival on July 13th - we can retreat to the spacious sports hall. If we have sunny summer weather like the last two years, dancers and spectators can enjoy an afternoon of spectacle in the open air. If you have not signed up to dance, please do consider it - and/or the evening dance in the sports hall. Tickets still available.

Reminders - Venue Change, Volunteers and Shop
|
|
|
I hope you are all now aware of our change of venue for the June dance.
We will again be at Holy Trinity Church Hall, Meanwood, Leeds LS6 4LF (Map) on June 15th
The music will be by the Robert Whitehead Trio and the MCs are Jan and Geoff Robinson from Richmond. Let's give them a hearty welcome. And of course, the traditional summer interval fare of strawberries and cream will be served.
Volunteers, please!
We are still looking for dancers to volunteer for the Countryfile event at Castle Howard. If you have not already signed up, please do email Evelyn and Christine in the first instance with your availability. The plan is to use dances we know well and/or are preparing for WRF anyway. Some dancers will do a straight demo, but more are needed to join in with audience participation.
More urgently, we would also like some more help with our information stall at Beckett Park's Picnic in the Park, Headingley on Sunday, July 7th. The event is from 1- 5pm. but we need help for setting up from 12, chatting to visitors during the event and clearing up afterwards. Please spare an hour to help.
We're looking for a gazebo, tall windbreak or awning to borrow as shelter/shade - Beckett Park is rather windier than Kirkstall Abbey where I've helped with stalls in the past, not to mention the strong possibility of unsettled weather!
Shop Update
The Branch Shop will not be at the June dance as it will be packed up ready for the White Rose Festival. If you want anything from the shop before then, it will be sent to you post free. Don't forget any pre-orders for the festival will benefit from a 10% discount.
Impending Price Rise - James Senior have increased their prices significantly, but have agreed we can delay passing on this rise until the end of this dancing season. If you are in need of a new pair, you are advised to buy them soon....
