Stride & Glide with Walk Leader LeRoy Butler is just two weeks away!

The 2019 Stride & Glide for IndependenceFirst Walk Leader LeRoy Butler wrote a book detailing his journey "From Wheelchair to the Lambeau Leap" about his childhood disability and path to becoming a safety for Green Bay from 1990-2001, including during the team's 1997 Super Bowl victory.

Walk on Team LeRoy or buy a space to take a selfie or get an item signed
What: The annual family-friendly Stride & Glide Run/Walk/Roll plus WERQ Dance Fitness, Kids’ Activities and Adaptive Gaming—a great day of outdoor activity. This year the event features Walk Leader LeRoy Butler!
When: Saturday, June 15, 2019. Registration starts at 8 a.m. Full event schedule here.
Why: Support Independence First's work for full inclusion of people with disabilities in all aspects of our community.
Where: At our main office, 540 S. 1st St. in Milwaukee, with the 5K Run/Walk/Roll and 2.5K Walk/Roll traveling through Walker’s Point and the Harbor District. Come explore our neighborhood before joining us for WERQ Dance Fitness, Adaptive Gaming, Kids’ Activities and Lunch— there’s plenty of parking!
Cost: Walk on Team LeRoy (Walk the 5K with LeRoy, special t-shirt and magnet) for $100 per person.
The general registration cost is $30 for adults and youth ages 12 and older (includes event participation, a t-shirt and lunch). Kids 11 and under are invited to participate for free (free registration does not include an event t-shirt).
Selfie with LeRoy or get an item signed: $20 while supplies last—(1) selfie for (1) person (must bring own camera) OR (1) item signed by LeRoy Butler. If you would like more than one person in the selfie each person needs to purchase a selfie space. Selfie/signing at same time as Awards Ceremony—Awards available for pickup after ceremony.

Free adaptive bike rental
Our DUET bikes are hitting the trails in our Adaptive Biking program. Bikes are loaned free of charge so youth and adults with disabilities can enjoy the ride. Ride to your neighborhood rummage sale or along area bike paths!
