Request for a Social Media Volunteer July 1, 2019-June 30, 2020

Social Media Volunteer: Increase awareness of the League of Women Voters of Los Altos-Mountain View by posting regularly to the League’s 500+ followers on Facebook and Twitter. 
  • Post 1-2 times per week on Facebook and Twitter (more during election season)
  • Add League-sponsored events to the League’s Facebook calendar
  • Follow and re-post content from the state and national Leagues
  • Expand LWVLAMV’s social media presence as time and interest allow
Experience using social media for an organization is a plus, but not required. If you use social media in your personal life - you can be trained to use it effectively for the League! This position requires 1-2/hours per week, but hours are flexible and can easily be done from home.

This forum is organized by the Los Altos Women's Caucus and hopes to provide a neutral fact-based framework for discussion of the ongoing issues between the Los Altos School District and Bullis Charter School. Robin Abrams and Curtis Cole will present basic information. Joan Barram is moderator.

Join us for a conversation about regional housing policy including, but definitely not limited to, SB50. Palo Alto Forward, SV@Home and Housing Leadership Council are pleased to invite you to hear Senator Wiener (D-San Francisco), best known for authoring SB50, but the Senator has enacted a number of housing reform bills into law over the past few sessions. The open conversation includes the housing crisis, what steps the state is taking to address it, and what the impact might be on peninsula communities.

Our chapter's Housing Committee regular meeting is the second Thursday of the month.  The committee works locally in Mountain View and Los Altos to promote more Below Market Rate units and other city zoning and commercial development policies that increase affordable housing.

LWV MVLA Voter Services committee registers new voters at citizenship ceremonies twice a year; registers and pre-registers high and community college students; and will provide voter education services for the 2020 presidential election cycle.
