Volunteer Alberta

Supported by Canada Service Corps, Youth @ the Table is a province-wide initiative seeking to engage youth ages 18-30 in shaping their communities.
Participants will spend at least six months from September 2019 until March 2020 collaborating with a nonprofit organization to explore and impact a social issue they care about. Volunteer Alberta will match youth participants with a nonprofit where they will be engaged at the governance level on a board, committee, or council.
Youth bring fresh perspectives to the complex social issues being addressed by our sector and provide unique insights on changing community needs. Their voices are essential in creating a sustainable future and ensuring that the work we do as a sector is relevant.

Bow Valley Parent Link
BVPL started a new pilot program at the Canmore Parent Link. We have converted our Tuesday morning drop-in to a day home provider day which has been very successful. Day homes have had the opportunity to utilize our space during a quieter time, connect with other providers in the community and access some of our resources. We are looking forward to working with them on this pilot throughout the summer months as well. Please let us know if you hear any feedback in the community – this is an important part of this project.
