Last week I celebrated my two year “Paris-versary” and when I think back to when I first arrived here, I want to laugh at how naive I was! If only I'd had a guidebook to advise me on what was ahead.
So I asked my expat friends to share their biggest mistakes, lessons and misconceptions after arriving in Paris. Take it from these foreigners who have “been there, done that” before you.

Two years in Paris. I feel like a completely different person than I was when I arrived in June 2017.

But I've decided to close that gap a little more by improving my French. It was a bit disappointing to take the test at my new school and learn I was still only in the Intermediate B-level. Hard feeling like I haven't progressed more. But speaking in daily life doesn't really help much with verb conjugation and making the same mistakes over and over.

So adventures in Intermediate French learning start again on July 1st! Hope you'll follow along. -Charli
