Description of Meeting:
The FMEA Research Committee invites researchers from collegiate faculty, graduate students and undergraduate students, and independent scholars to submit proposals for the FMEA professional development conference research poster session that will occur from 12noon-1pm on Friday January 10, 2020.

Description of Types of Submissions Sought:
Please note: This Call is primarily for Research Posters--submissions of unpublished research in music education, reviews of literature, action research, and works in progress from FMEA members and out-of-state researchers. That said, graduate students attending Florida universities who also wish to be considered for an oral research presentation session should use this poster submission process (see Submission Information below).
Research Topics Sought:
Topics related to research about music teaching and learning will be considered.
Submission Information:
Poster Session submissions should include:
  1. An abstract of 300-500 words. Include the title, summarize the research purpose, methodology, findings, and implications.
     
  2. Identifying information (author name, status, institutional affiliation, and an email address).
Submissions to this conference may also have been accepted for publication but should not have appeared in print prior to the conference. Reports presented at other conferences are eligible if the audience was substantially different. A statement specifying the particulars of any prior presentations must be included with the submission.

Oral Presentation Session submissions:

Graduate students attending Florida universities who submit for the poster session and who also wish to be considered for an oral presentation session should use this poster submission process. Submitters who receive the highest evaluations will be invited to give 20-minute presentations during a separate conference session on Friday, January 10, 2020. Submitters should indicate their interest on the online form and should submit a more extensive report of an original research project.
Deadline for Submissions and Timeline for Acceptance of Proposals:
Submission deadline is September 13, 2019. The FMEA Research Committee will blind-review all submissions. Authors will be notified about acceptance by the end of September.
