Parish council elects new chairman
Councillor Smruti Patel has been elected the new chairman of Buckhurst Hill Parish Council with councillor Glenys Reynolds the new vice-chairman.
Mrs Patel, after receiving the chain of office from outgoing chairman councillor Neville Wright at last Thursday's annual council meeting, offered a "huge thank you" to Mr Wright "for all his leadership over last three years".
Mrs Patel is seeking suggestions from councillors for a local charity to be her charity for the year.
Committee chairmen elected for the 2019-20 council year were:
Finance and establishment committee, Glenys Reynolds
Planning and environment committee, Ken Williamson
Accommodation committee, Bobby Nagpal
Recreation and community committee, Neville Wright
Personnel committee, Smruti Patel.
