LET THE CHILDREN COME

(and their mums, too)

It was a joy to be a part of the church plant's first kids club in Merkinch this summer.

The boys participated in football (soccer) drills and games, while the girls enjoyed a mix of dancing, crafts, and nail-painting. Both groups heard a Bible talk during lunch, and the week ended with a free BBQ for the parents and community.
The kids here haven't heard the stories of the Bible, and they were captivated! What a privilege to share the character of God and the good news of the gospel with them!

One boy came with significant, visible health issues. The story for one of the days was Jesus healing the woman with the issue of blood. It's powerful to remember the compassionate heart of Jesus to bring healing and restoration, and it felt particularly poignant with him in the room. We want this little boy to know the mercy of Jesus and find hope in him - for his physical brokenness, and even more so for his spiritual brokenness. Would you please pray for him and all the kids to believe and trust Jesus to be the Good King and Great Rescuer they need?
We had a couple families come to the kids club from a safe house, and we've been able to keep connecting with them since then.

Please pray for these mums and their kids, who have seen and walked through so many hard things. A small picture of this is how one of the sons, just an 8-year-old, had to do the very grown-up task of helping his mum pack so they could get away from an abusive situation.

Where their stories and hearts are broken and desperate, we know King Jesus can bring light and life. Please pray that these families would come to know him and that the God of hope would fill them with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit, they would abound in hope (Romans 15:13).
  • HOUSING - We're thankful for our current spot, but it's only ever been temporary. We have to move out mid-September and don't have a long-term solution. Please ask for God to provide.
  • BIG KEV - Martin's been meeting with Big Kev for several months, talking about God's character and our need for Jesus. Please pray for him to understand his sin and believe Jesus.
  • ADDICTIONS COURSE - Martin is working on a course to offer biblical help to people enslaved by addictions. Pray for the Holy Spirit to give him wisdom in this work.
  • TRANSITIONS - It's been a heavy season of transition in several different ways. We see God kindly using this for our sanctification. Please pray for continued grace to walk in this season and to draw nearer and nearer to Jesus in it.
