Thank you, Meg!
It is with great sadness that the board of the New Orleans Vocal Arts Chorale (NOVA) announces the retirement of its Artistic Director, Dr. Meg Frazier. As NOVA's third and fifth Artistic Director, Meg has led the choir through a period of unprecedented growth, quadrupling the ensemble's size, tripling its number of performing groups, and exponentially growing its audience.
As Meg says, "I have thoroughly enjoyed my association with NOVA—we’ve made some gorgeous music, formed friendships, and continued the culture of excellence that Ray Sprague, the group’s founding conductor, began in 1989. This decision was not made lightly or easily, but at this stage, I’d like to have more freedom and flexibility of schedule for time with family and friends, to travel, to relax and recharge. I look forward to seeing and hearing future performances and wish the ensemble continued success."
The NOVA Board remains deeply committed to stellar, visionary artistic leadership for NOVA. As it has done in past periods of transition, it will diligently conduct a search for its next Artistic Director.
Our deepest thanks go to Meg for her years of unparalleled artistry, and to NOVA's membership of wildly talented, passionately committed singers, who make NOVA possible. We look forward to providing updates about the 2020 season in the weeks and months ahead.
Sincerely,
Eve Master, Board President; Steven Primeaux, Treasurer; Erin McQuade-Wright, Secretary; Jered Bocage; Cecile Fallon; Bart Folse; Colette Stelly Friend; Ernest O’Bannon; Harry Rosenberg; and Mark Townsend
