Two weeks ago, the Dream and Promise Act passed out of the House Judiciary Committee and today, the bill is getting a vote on the House floor. This bill would grant permanent protection and a path to citizenship for Dreamers and TPS-holders, and it’s one of the most significant pieces of pro-immigrant legislation in years.
We must continue to put pressure on members of Congress to make sure they pass the bill.
If passed, up to 2.5 million undocumented immigrants from all walks of life and all corners of the country will be allowed to continue to contribute to the country they know and love. They will be able to continue to earn degrees, pursue career goals, raise their families, and be community members and neighbors, without threat of deportation.
