Dear <<First Name>>,

A lot is happening thins month in Dublin (and Ireland!) with the Velo-City Conference taking place for the second time in the fair city and another year of National Bike Week events. We will be involved in many events so we hope to see you there! We are still looking for volunteers for some events so check out the posts below.

One of the highlights of every city conference is the Bike Parade, an all-ages event of pure fun! Please help us spread the word and invite people to it and if you're not attending Velo-City, please also register for the event.

Our next Public Meeting will take place next Monday 10th with Lorraine D'arcy of the School of Civil and Structural Engineering at Technical University Dublin presenting the findings of last few months of research on women who cycle in Dublin. See article below for more info and hope to see you there!

Happy Cycling!

Women on Wheels Research Mon 10th @7pm, Central Hotel

Women on Wheels is a group within Dublin Cycling Campaign which is researching women's experience of cycling in Dublin; you may be aware that only 30% of people who cycle in Dublin identify as women.
We've spent the last months listening to women, asking them to describe their experiences around the city. “People often say that you’re brave whereas for men it’s just normal,” one participant told us. “I feel like there are two attitudes to women cycling,” another participant told Women on Wheels. “Either very aggressive or reducing you to being a woman.... I can't find a place that it's in the middle.”
We are delighted that Lorraine D'arcy of the School of Civil and Structural Engineering at Technical University Dublin will be facilitating a presentation of our initial findings, along with a panel discussion with Women on Wheels researchers on Monday June 10th at Central Hotel. Coffee and tea from 6.30, discussion with Q & A from 7 pm.
