Introducing Katie...

It's no secret that Chris has a passion for vintage vehicles, so when he discovered a 1958 Austin K8 van rusting away in a garage in the Cotswolds, he knew he had to bring her home.
Two years and a lot of restoration later, this is the result. Isn't she beautiful?
She had her first outing at Worcester Racecourse in May for the Worcester Food Show and there are many more planned over the summer, including Cheltenham Food & Drink Festival on June 14 and 15.
The Fillet & Bone team served visiting foodies with our take on a ploughman's lunch - Scotch eggs from the award-winning Outdoor Pig Company, Tracklements' Caramelised Red Onion Relish and dressed salad.
Huge thanks have to go to the team who restored our lovely Katie, from the talented fit-out guys from Towability in Northamptonshire, to the graphics wizards at Acorn Creative who did the sign writing. 
We're indebted to our Chipping Campden neighbours Overbrook Garage for transforming her from a rusty shell of an old TV delivery van into this masterpiece, and James, our mechanic, for making and keeping her roadworthy.
She'll be out and about across the Cotswolds this summer, as well as outside the shop where we'll be serving everything from strawberries and cream to ice cream sundaes to keep you all cool in the heat.

Bring on the barbecues

There's no excuse for falling into the boring-burgers-and-bangers trap with your summer barbecues when you've got Butcher Ben to hand.
He's been busy dreaming up new recipes for his legendary no-additive, no-preservative sausages - try his Smoke & Fire Chilli bangers made from a spice mix supplied by the wonderful Oxfordshire Chilli Garden.
Or how about these sticky belly pork cuts, perfect for cooking over coals. And if you do fancy a burger - and who doesn't - these bad boys are made from heritage Highland beef, produced to the highest welfare standards over in Bidford-on-Avon by the awesome Annie Perkins.
Provenance is everything when it comes to the meat we sell, so whether you're looking for a joint for a weekend family feast or you're jazzing up your midweek barbecue, you can be sure you're buying the very best.
We visit all of our farms regularly to make sure the animals are well cared-for and happy, and the quality is exceptional.
We don't compromise, and we don't expect you to either.

Grape expectations

The wines produced in the Cotswolds have won a host of awards over the past few years, and we're proud stockists. Try these from Little Oak Vineyard, in Chipping Campden. The sparkling has just won a coveted Bronze Decanter World Wine Award. Or how about a sparkling Pinot Noir from the brilliant Sixteen Ridges, in Ledbury?

Pack up a picnic 

Picnics are one of life's great joys at this time of year.
There's something special about throwing a tartan blanket on the ground, opening up the hamper and tucking into deliciously simple food. The great outdoors just makes everything taste better, somehow.
Our shelves are packed with perfect picnic fodder, from the finest Italian olives and sun blushed tomatoes to artisan breads, handmade cheeses, cured meats from our great friends at the Salt Pig Curing Co, sublime smoked salmon and these incredible Scotch eggs, pork pies and multi award-winning Plenty! Pies.
Don't forget the wine - our Bone Dry White and Slaughterhouse Red are a great accompaniment. 
You can pack it all in one of our lovely Fillet & Bone jute bags. We've even got environmentally-friendly cutlery.

Tasting days

We've had the best time at our tasting days over the past month.
Burke's Beers were here keeping you all hydrated during Campden's famous Scuttlebrook Wake. The Shin-Kickers went down particularly well with our visitors. It's available in bottles in the shop year-round.

Give us a swirl

Everyone loves a whippy ice cream, and ours is made with milk from Jersey cows, chilled to perfection in our new ice cream dispenser.
Cool down with a classic cone and a chocolate flake.
Or how about an ice cream sundae, piled high with summer berries from the shop?
Just ask and we'll make you one while you do the rest of your shopping.

In season now 

There's so much fantastic seasonal produce coming into the shop at the moment, from Evesham asparagus and the first broad beans to Jersey Royals, spring lamb to sea bass and fresh Cornish crab.
We strive to stock the very best seasonal, sustainable produce in the shop, whether you're talking fresh vegetables or sensitively-farmed meat from farmers we know and trust.
There's nothing more important than the food we eat, and when it's in season it tastes better, contains way more vitamins and minerals and cuts right down on food miles - which is better for the environment.

Fishing for compliments 

Did you know we have fresh fish delivered to the shop four times a week?
There's always a great variety of seasonal fish and shellfish on our counter, but if there's something specific you're after, give us a call and we can order it in for you.
In season now is sea bass, Cornish crab, sardines and mackerel - plentiful in UK waters at this time of the year.
Fish is fabulous cooked on the barbecue with some lemon and herb butter. It's a great alternative to meat when you're looking for something lighter.
