A message from the Principal
As the university prepares for the start of a new term and new academic year, we are excited to welcome a new cohort of students to our university, and to the local community. As part of the local community, we are keen that our students settle in to their halls and homes safely and considerately, and become good neighbours.
Our students bring many positives to the local area, from award-winning volunteering initiatives and creative community events, to investment from businesses and enterprises. However, we are aware that a very small number of students can take time to adjust to their new living arrangements and this can cause concern.
Therefore, we are taking a number of steps before the start of term to ensure that measures and information is in place to communicate to students the importance of being considerate neighbours, and our expectations of them. We are taking this opportunity to share that information with you, along with some important local updates relating to the start of term.
I’d like to thank you for your continued support of the university. I am always delighted to hear the many positive comments that come from you, whether from those who benefit from student projects, who attend our events on campus, or who simply enjoy spending time in our beautiful surroundings.
I hope the strength of our relationship continues to grow throughout the academic year, as we look forward to welcoming students to Runnymede.
