8TH GRADE MOVING UP CEREMONY
Thursday, June 6 at 4:00 pm

We will honor our 8th graders' accomplishments as they move up from middle school.  All families are welcome to attend the ceremony and reception. 8th grade students and families should arrive at 3:00 pm. Seniors and juniors should arrive at 3:30 pm. This will ensure enough time to take pictures, to mingle, and to iron out any last minute details. Students should leave LTS at the 12:30 pm dismissal and return at 3 pm. If this is not possible due to distance constraints, please contact Mary Ellen to make arrangements to stay through. 8th grade dress for the occasion is semi-formal: boys are expected to wear nice dress pants, a dress shirt, and preferably a tie; girls should wear a dress, a nice top and skirt or dress pants.

BASKETBALL CAMPS AT LONG TRAIL SCHOOL

Long Trail School will run two basketball camps this summer during the week of July 8-12.  Camps are being offered for grades 6-8 and grades 9-12. The program will run from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm and costs $150. LTS Basketball Campers will fully enjoy Long Trail School’s new, state-of-the-art Fieldhouse.

Basketball Camp Director/Coach Mike Olson and Coach Rob Leary are excitedly planning the program’s schedule. Campers will focus daily on individual offensive skills including shooting, passing, and ball handling. Concepts of offensive and defensive team play will be incorporated into 3-3 and 4-4 competitions. Full and half-court scrimmages will improve the participants’ game. To register or for more information, go to www.longtrailschool.org/basketballcamp/ or contact Basketball Camp Director Mike Olson at 802-359-2149.

With 35 years experience as a Division I, II, and III college basketball coach, and most recently as Head Basketball Coach at Kimball Union Academy, Mike Olson has conducted basketball clinics and camps throughout the United States and Europe and served as Head Coach for the USA Select U-18 team from 2014-2016. Rob Leary, a Northshire native, has worked with local basketball teams extensively. Having played basketball for MEMS and Burr and Burton, Leary has 25 years of coaching experience at the middle and high school levels.
