Thank You!
 Congratulations on another school year (almost) done! The PTA wants to thank you for all your contributions of time, money, and volunteer efforts on behalf of all kids at Jackson Middle School. We thought we'd reflect with you on the financial achievements of the 2018-19 school year. With your generous support, the PTA was able to accomplish all of these great things:
We fully funded the Leonard Bernstein Artful Learning Method allowing students to participate in enhanced art integration across the range of subjects and classrooms. This annual $25,000 commitment includes the required professional development for our wonderful staff that so embraces the Artful Learning Model.
We met our $25,000 general fund commitment to the staff and students that supports Culture Day each Spring, provides every teacher financial resources for the year, and contributes to the good work of the PTA Clothing Center and Student Aid Fund. With this money, the PTA also provides the school office with a scholarship fund to keep field trips inclusive, hosts open school events, and contributes to the various fun staff appreciation parties. On top of that, we make sure funds are available for Ms. Tini to update the library catalog every year.
We continued our support of having Chromebooks available for as many students to use as possible. This year’s purchases to that end included a dedicated cart and Chromebooks for the office, a cart and Chromebooks for the new Language Arts classroom being added next year, and the replacement of 70 Chromebooks that had expired. We are very happy to be able to keep up with the staff and students’ technology needs.
In addition to those main goals, we were also able to fill some additional requests that came to us throughout the year, including:
- a new refrigerator for the staff and school nurse to use
- the completion of Mr. Rossington’s DonorsChoose project
- a new die cut machine and letters for the staff
- signage in the upper parking lot
- initial inventory for the SUN Community Pantry
Wow! Whether you're finishing at Jackson or just getting started, thank you for a tremendous year! Your commitments of both time and money made a real difference and greatly improved the staff and student experience at Jackson Middle School. Go Jaguars!
