Make-A-Kinder-Providence @PVDFest this weekend

MAKE-A-KINDER-PROVIDENCE

Some of our PVD Young Makers seem shy when they first walk into our maker spaces, but get them on a track to do something loving for their family and friends and they light up!

We’re excited for our first ever Make-A-Thon this Saturday and Sunday at Providence City Hall as part of PVD Fest.

We’ll also be at the Mini Maker Faire on Saturday. These are all free public events. Make-A-Thon students will present their ideas for Make-A-Kinder-Providence between 2:30-4:30 pm on June 9th. Please stop by!

Meet Teen Makers

About the events

A 2-Day Youth-Centric Make-A-Thon in partnership with PVD Fest and the Rhode Island Mini Maker Faire @City Hall – June 8-9.

Teams of youth will design, build and develop ideas to improve the quality of life in Providence.
Teams will present their ideas on Sunday to a panel of experts for feedback and encouragement.

Teen Teams

Teams will have access to professional coaching and PVD Young Makers tools and materials all on site at City Hall:

Sewing machines
Laser cutting
3D printing
Vinyl cutting
Prototyping materials
Electronics
Robotics
Fabric
