Day Use Area Closed for Repairs.

Fosters Trail & Part of Cotton Brook Rd. Closed

June 5, 2019

The Waterbury Day Use Park in Waterbury Center is still closed to make repairs due to heavy ran and the resulting runoff. The water covered the beach and the railroad ties at the grass border. The ramp on the boat launch was covered in silt which may cause a vehicle to lose traction.

It is doubtful the park will open by the weekend.

Cotton Brook, Blush Hill and the launch at the dam are open.
There is a lot of debris floating in the murky brown water so power boaters should keep a sharp eye out for large sticks and logs.

Please take extra care when using the reservoir!

At this point it looks like we have lost 650 feet of the Fosters Trail and the area of the slide is approximately 15-20 acres in size. We will keep everyone informed as closure areas change and we get more information about the condition of the trail system and stability of the slide area.
