Every apple and avocado, peach, pear and plum has a history. With one quick glance you can learn how produce was grown. That tiny plastic PLU (price look up code) sticker found on individual fruits and vegetables sold in grocery stores are made of micro plastic and glue, creating a large issue for the environment and compost facilities all over the world. Researchers in New Zealand, Sweden and other countries and creating laser etched and biodegradable stickers. Solutions exist! Let's push our grocery providers to move in this direction, but until then, get creative, make art or find another way to reuse the stickers. Please just don't compost them.
