Summer Gigs 2019

Hello everyone,

We have two big band gigs to prepare for in June this year.

First up is our quarterly residency in St. Luke's next week, on Thursday 06/06/2019.

The gig is scheduled to start at around 8.00pm, finishing at approximately 10.15pm.

Entrance: £7/£5 concessions. Tickets are available online from Ticketweb.

Towards the end of June, we are delighted to have been invited to participate once again at the annual Big Band Festival on Sunday 23/06/2019 as part of the official Glasgow Jazz Festival programme.

For the very first time it shall be held in one of Glasgow's best-loved venues, The Old Fruitmarket.

In addition to ourselves the following bands shall be performing:

Zig Zag Big Band

Byres Road Big Band

Strathclyde Youth Jazz Orchestra

East Dunbartonshire Schools' Jazz Orchestra

The schedule and running order shall be finalised within the next couple of weeks and published on Facebook.

On the 17th of June a large number of our big band regulars shall be performing with the platinum award-winning Glasgow Wind Band.

The 'Sounds of Scotland' concert will feature music by Malcolm Arnold, Peter Graham, and variations of familiar Scottish traditional tunes.

The venue is Hyndland Parish Church, tickets cost £8 / £5 (under-12s free) and are available from TicketSource.

We are in the early stages of planning at least two more potential gigs later in the summer - at the Kelvingrove Bandstand and at the Merchant City Festival. We'll be sure to keep you posted if/when those gigs are confirmed.
