'Name that Space' Contest Winners
After receiving more than 100 awesome suggestions, the team decided on four names:
- OASIS - is the name for the crop/class area. Suggested by Natalie Ranger.
- NOOK - is the name for the resource corner at the back of the store where you can ask questions and try out products or tools. Suggested by Sylvie Renaud.
- CROPPERS @ WORK - is the new name for our regular Tuesday and Thursday daytime crops. Glenda Thornton suggested the name that the croppers loved!
- CREATIVACTION - is the name for Crop A While's community-oriented activities such as the Caring Hearts Card Drive, Christmas in July Food Bank Drive, and the Christmas Angel Tree Gift Drive. Suggested by Helene Periard.
Congrats to these lucky ladies - Natalie, Sylvie, Glenda and Helene - have a prize waiting for them the next time they are in the store.

Notions Commotion 2019

Carole & Tom had an amazing crazy busy time - and loved every minute of it! (even though Carole had to hobble around on crutches after hurting her knee four days before departure)
|

Here's the stats for the event:
150 participants from 86 stores across 5 countries joined in the event. The persons who traveled the farthest were from Australia and New Zealand. Four Canadian provinces were represented by stores from BC, Alberta, Ontario (including Crop A While) and Quebec (including Scrapbook Centrale).

|
The companies providing workshops (and lots of goodies) included Ranger, Sizzix, Ken Oliver, Prima, Crafter's Companion and Tonic. More than a dozen other companies joined the fun by providing door prizes and 'stuff' for our goodie bags. Every participant won a door prize and sometimes, like both Tom and Carole, additional prizes from the presenting companies. Thanks to Notions and all their sponsors for making it such a great event.
The two days included 7 workshops with some stellar designers like Wendy Vecchi, Jamie Dougherty, Jen Long, Sharon Laakkonen, Jen Tryon and Ken Oliver. We got to try out LOTS of new products and made some great class projects to be added Crop A While's calendar, as the products become available.

Thursday, June 20 - evening - English workshop
Mixed media class with Carole Fulton
The first of several classes from 'Notions Commotion', Carole will introduce you to new Prima products and some simple ways of adding dimension and layers to your mixed media projects. Beginners are welcome!

Mini-journal workshop with Trina St.Michael
Trina has created a 'lovely' new project for you to use your flower shaping skills. Inspired by Heartfelt Creations' Lush Lilac collection the soft purples, blues and pinks of this journal surround your memories in the beauty of spring.

Create three 'no-line watercolour' panels which you will pair with embossed card stock to create elegant hand painted cards for any occasion.

Intro to Watercolour the Art Impressions (AI) Way
Beginner watercolour class with Trina St. Michael
Trina has designed the perfect beginner class for you. She will introduce you the basic AI techniques using water-based markers. Together you will create four lovely cards that will have you saying 'Wow I did that!'

Watercolour class with Trina St. Michael
It's time to turn our watercolour focus to the fellas of all ages. In this class Trina takes you on a journey through more advanced techniques to build cards with complete watercolour scenes.
