A three days workshop of contemporary art with recycled material facilitated by Momar Seck (award winning Swiss/Senegalese artist ). The artist who participated were able to give discarded objects a second life by creating a compelling art pieces.

Artist Hangout: Momar Seck (visual artist) and Kristen Windmuller Luna (Curator of African Arts at the Brooklyn Museum in New York city). Both shared experiences in their art careers. 

Dar Art Club: Scientists, Art enthusiasts and artists had discussions and debates on artificial intelligence being recognized as artists. What is the future of Art?

Freak De L'Afrique

Freak de l'Afrique / Wallizz & DJ Nomi
Berlin DJ and organizer duo with roots in West Africa (Ghana and Senegal), stand for various varieties of club music from Africa. DJ Nomi was born in Stuttgart and has been living and working in Berlin for several years.
We cant wait to have them on the Wikiendi stage!

RECENT EVENTS
Lazaro Samuel Chap chap Denim & "This is where I Live" Exhibition 
On Saturday 25th, Nafasi Artist Space hosted Chap Chap Denim and "This is where i live" Exhibition featuring Lazaro Samuel. 
Chap Chap Denim was everything a Chap Chap is designed to be, fun, educational, engaging, and unforgettable.  

Participants  gave new life to old jeans/clothes transformed them through Lazaro's unique splatter style.
TIWIL Exhibition showcased Lazaro's and other International artist  Art works  with street life stories. Lazaro shared his experience of moving from Singida to Dar es Salaam as a street child through beautiful Art pieces that everyone wanted to take home with.
The night ended with a part. Wamwuiduka Band performed a live show and their unique music instruments kept people on dance floor.

Recycled materials Workshop by Momar Seck (Senegal/Switzerland)
The Embassy of Switzerland in collaboration with Nafasi Art Space organized an international and interdisciplinary project aimed at to create art that cares for the Environment, 
The Three day workshop was at Nafasi Art Space,Artists from Africraft, Chuma Art workshop, nafasi members and individual artists like Nimrod Hanai, Maria e.t.c.
We congratulate our workshop participants for creating beautiful installations, sculptures and mixed media art from recycled materials.
We thank @Momar_seck_ artist for great facilitation and Exhibition at Alliance Francaise  with is still on until  8th May 2019.

My Better World is an innovative new animated and live action series that aims to teach a young teen audience essential life skills. The series is comprised of 55 and 7 minute episodes and is being produced by creative teams in Tanzania, South Africa, Kenya, Ghana and Nigeria. The voices for the series have been recorded at Nafasi by sound engineer and composer Juma Rajabu.  The first hour-long episode is almost ready for broadcast.

Tuesday & Wednesday 11- 12 June 2019 .  
Nafasi Team is busy preparing for the next  Wikiendi Live , we will be celebrating our artistic voices once again! Through art workshops, live music, dance performances and exhibitions we will celebrate art.  Local and International musicians and performers such as Seghito and the Jazz Tribe from Tanzania, Freak de la'Afrique from Berlin, UBT Mchiriku from Tanzania, D'bass Ganum  from Tanzania and many more will be live on Wikiendi Live stage! we are very excited! we hope you are too.
