NDA to continue relationship building on Governor-led trade mission to Vietnam
In August of 2018, Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) Director Steve Wellman traveled to Vietnam to promote Nebraska agriculture and introduce potential buyers and distributors to Nebraska beef. Wellman stresses the importance to Nebraska of increasing agriculture trade opportunities in the Southeast Asia country.
“The key to export success is building on existing relationships and creating new opportunities in international marketplaces,” said Director Wellman. There’s a lot of room for growth in ag exports in Vietnam, particularly in beef, pork, corn, soybeans and distillers grains.”
Wellman will join Governor Peter Ricketts, staff members and interested representatives of commodity groups, livestock organizations and agri-businesses on the trip to Hanoi to begin Sept. 3, 2019.
The Governor will be traveling to Japan following the Vietnam trip to attend the Midwest U.S.-Japan Conference in Tokyo.
People interested in participating in the trade mission should email Angel Velitchkov, Counsel for International Trade at angel.velitchkov@nebraska.gov. Deadline to register is June 30.
