“Kadir Gecesi” in Turkish means The Night of Destiny. It is considered one of the holiest nights of the year for Muslims. The story goes that on this night Muhammed received his first revelation of the Koran. On this night, you will see local mosques all across Turkey filled with people offering prayers to God throughout the night until the early hours of the morning. Muslims believe that on this night the blessings and mercy of God are more abundant, more supplications can be accepted, and that your sins can be forgiven. Many Muslims believe that this is a special night when heavens open up and God will give answers to people’s prayers.

Before praying, please watch this informative video prepared by www.prayercast.com about the Night of Power.

Tonight (May 31st) around 8:28 pm (GMT+3) Kadir Gecesi will begin for people here in Turkey.

Over this night and all throughout the day, let us pray…
  • that Muslims all across Turkey would supernaturally and personally encounter Jesus through dreams and visions. (Joel 2:28, Acts 2:17)
  • that the Lord would reveal His honor and glory to many, and they would trade their shame for the Lord's honor. (Zep. 3:19-20)
  • against the lies, schemes, and bondage of the evil one keeping Muslims in Turkey in spiritual darkness. May their eyes be opened, and may they see the “light of the gospel of the glory Christ.”  (2 Cor. 4:3-5)
  • that as people hunger and thirst for righteousness on this night, that Jesus would meet them and fill them. (Matt. 5:6)

May His Kingdom come and will be done!
