Campaigns and Actions

#FamiliesTogether coalition

Ask Sajid Javid to change unfair rule keeping refugee families apart - by signing this petition

'Words that Burn':  Amnesty has launched the next stage of its human rights education project, which encourages young people to engage with human rights through poetry. This term the focus is on family, in support of the Families Together campaign .  Supporters from schools and beyond are invited to supporters to write their own poems and write one line on what family means to them and tweet it @sajidjavid with the hashtag #FamiliesTogether.

'Winning the argument to keep families together' is a new communications guide for campaigners on issues of refugee family reunion, family migration and integration.

It offers new insights into effective campaign strategies on these issues, new audiences and tested messages that have been shown to resonate with the public.
Researchers British Future and Lewisham Refugee and Migrant Network conducted focus groups across the country with different audience groups (migration liberals, the ‘Anxious Middle’, ethnic minorities, grandparents and campaigners); and two waves of nationally-representative polling by ICM.

The report is not available publicly but City of Sanctuary members can contact nawal@cityofsanctuary.org to gain access via a password protected website.
