NEWSLETTER, MAY 2019

President's Message

Some really exciting and important updates to share with you in this newsletter!

Firstly, I am pleased to announce that The British Blockchain Association have launched a series of educational webinars for our members, that will cover emerging trends in Blockchain industry, DLT research debates and reviews, and 1-1 Q&A sessions with the BBA Advisors, Editors, Thought Leaders, Influencers and Blockchain experts. The webinars are bite-size, 20-25 minute sessions that members can join-in from the comfort of their own home, any where in the world or while on the move. These sessions are very carefully designed - we aim to have a practical, to-the-point conversation with the experts - questions you always wanted to ask, but most of us never really gets a chance to, when at a conference or a meeting.
Members receive a CPD certificate of participation. The first webinar was held on Friday, 24 May, entitled “7 Questions with Marc Pilkington". The webinar covered the current university research landscape, top tips on writing a world-class blockchain research paper, advice for students and entrepreneurs wishing to pursue a career in blockchain, and more. The feedback we received afterwards was overwhelmingly positive.

On a similar note, I am absolutely delighted to share that the JBBA has been indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals. DOAJ have a very stringent assessment criteria in place for indexing and listing open access journals in their database. The journal must satisfy the highest standards of quality, transparency, principles, peer review policies and procedures before they are indexed in DOAJ. It receives more than 900,000 views and 300,000 unique visitors a month from all over the world.

I was pleased to see the JBBA research included in the some of the world's top universities' postgraduate curriculum “Essential Reading” list -  Recently, City University of London, have added JBBA ppaer to their SMM393 (Fintech in Shipping, Energy Trade and Finance Module).

BBA has joined The International Association of Trusted Blockchain Applications - INATBA. We look forward to working closely with other member organisations. Should you wish to develop strategic collaboration and work with us on global projects, please reach out to us.

BBA Fellowship (FBBA) applications submission deadline is 30 June. If you now someone who has made an exceptional contribution to the field of Blockchain, DLT or Cryptocurrencies, please put forward your nominations for the award of Fellowship of The British Blockchain Association FBBA. To view the list of current Fellows, and to apply, visit: https://www.britishblockchainassociation.org/fellowship

And lastly, a very warm welcome to all new members that have joined the association.

Until next time,

Naseem
