The Auxiliary for Community Health which operates the thrift shop on Willow Street, has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to our local schools, fire and police Departments, churches and our Winsted Health Center on Spencer Street. Please think of us when you have "stuff" to give away. Your donations make our giving possible. And please think of us when you have a chance to "boost" local businesses. NCCC is considering hosting a German student here for the next academic year, through a program sponsored by the U.S. Congress and the German Bundestag. Students take courses here in the fall full-time and also participate in an internship in the spring semester. In order to participate, the College needs to find a host family to provide a room to the student. Host families get a stipend to cover costs. Students arrive in August and stay until this time next year. Host family does have to complete a questionnaire and have a home visit by the college. They get a stipend check and need to complete a W9.
If you are interested, and would like to find out more about hosting a student and what is involved email Dr. Rooke at MRooke@nwcc.commnet.edu
