Highline Academy Northeast

A note from the Principal

Dear families,

Have a happy, safe, and love-filled summer!  I am very excited for our teachers to get some rest and recharge time with their friends and loved ones, and I hope the same for your children over these months.

We had a great year at Highline, capped off by an amazing field day, and wonderful celebrations for each of our grade levels.  Additionally, we sent our first class of 5th graders on to middle school, which is an exciting time for our whole community.

In the upcoming school year, we look forward to continuing to build a strong Highline community, and continuing to work with students as they REACH Up, REACH In, and REACH Out.

Thank you to all of our families and students for helping to make this a great year!  See you all soon!

Free Summer Meals

The Summer Meal Program refers to the free meal program offered during summer months that provides nutritious meals to all children at no charge, regardless of income, race or religion.

Just as learning does not end when school lets out, neither does the need for good nutrition. Children who aren’t hungry learn better, act better and feel better. The Summer Food Service Program helps children get the nutrition they need during the summer. During the school year, more than 18 million children receive free and reduced-price meals at school. During the summer, that number drops to about 3 million.

Summer Food Service Programs provide nutritious breakfast and lunch meals to all children and, when coupled with recreation and tutoring programs, are of a great benefit to them.
Please click HERE to see where you can get free summer meals

Summer Camps

As summer time approaches parents often are in need of summer programs and camps for their students.  We will begin to provide Summer Camps and opportunities here as we are made aware of them.  If you have any questions please reach out to the organizers directly as the school does not have any additional information.  *Click on the links to see the program flyers*

A note from your PWP

Hi Highline Community,

As we head into summer, we wanted to reach out one last time and share our PWP accomplishments for 2018-2019.  As a reminder, the PWP exists to support our students, teachers, and families. Our achievements were made possible thanks to your donations, volunteer hours, and support. If you were unable to volunteer at an event, but donated items, or solicited donations on our behalf, this is also much appreciated support and we appreciate you! Our goal is to build on this momentum and  do even more next year with your help.  We are asking for each family to consider committing a minimum of 10 hours. As a parent-driven community school, with a desire to be a force in our student’s educational experience, we NEED your support. What can your personal goal be for next year? PWP welcomes any and all support in the various forms it may come in.  We will send out a tentative calendar of events in the upcoming weeks. Please take a look and see where you can volunteer next year. Thank you and see you next year!
