Mark your calendars! Join us on Friday, August 2 from 5 – 7pm at the Turner-Roberts Multipurpose Center for the Colony Park Back to School Bash.

This summer, the City of Austin Economic Development Department, Colony Park Neighborhood Association and partners will be planning a fun-filled event to help families get ready for the 2019–2020 school year. This will be a great event you don't want to miss!

This Ramp-Up Schedule is to notify residents the "clinic on wheels" is rolling into Colony Park soon. Starting June 24, CommUnity Care will offer primary care, preventive care, vaccines, and lab services inside a mobile clinic–recently purchased by Central Health. The forty-foot clinic features built-in exam rooms, a lab, and a waiting area that can seat up to four people.

In celebration of National Homeownership Month, BCL of Texas is hosting a Home Buyer Fair.

The event will include a virtual reality home tour, kids' activities, prize drawings, and free lunch for the first 150 attendees. Families will have the opportunity to visit with real estate agents, loan officers, down payment assistance providers, homeownership counselors, and home inspection providers. No matter where you're at on your journey to homeownership this event will help.

Children need nutritious meals to learn, grow and thrive—even when school is out. Through the Summer Food Service Program, AISD will serve free breakfast and lunch to local children and teens ages 18 and younger, regardless of economic status. Participants will enjoy a nutritious meal without any registration or identification requirements. Kids simply show up at a participating site to receive a healthy meal. 

Austin ISD will be closed from July 1–5, 2019, meals will not be served at schools during this time.

Lights, Camera, Action

During the summer, Mobile Loaves & Fishes invites you to free movie nights at Community First! Village. Bring your family and friends to enjoy a special screening and don't forget to grab your chairs and a blanket! While there, you can explore Community First! Village and enjoy your favorite movie snacks from the Community Grille. Movies begin at full dark and/or approximately an hour after event start time, depending on the season.

It's as easy as 1, 2, 3!  

The Austin Public Library is your free ticket to fun activities from June through August. You can also join the Summer Reading Program. 

  1. Pick up a reading log at the Library or download and print one.
  2. For every 20 minutes you read, color in a section. Or if you prefer, list your books on the back.
  3. Return your completed log to any of the Austin Public Library's (21) locations between July and August, 2019.
