The Bringing Back the Native Gardens Tour was on May 5 – did you see those gorgeous gardens? In case you missed the tour, all the gardens featured this year are available with photos and stats about the plants and yard size. View the 2019 Gardens. What great inspiration for your next water-wise landscape project! For more great ideas, here is a waterwise plant list.
Looking for Gardens for the 2020 Tour
We're looking for residential gardens for next year’s tour. Gardens can be homeowner designed and installed or by a professional. But most important is that you love your garden and want to show it off. So if you have a native garden, please consider being on the tour next year. Gardens generally need to have at least 60% California native plants. The tour is on the first Sunday of May. Contact us at conserve@ccwater.com for details.
Watering Schedule
Did you know? Shrubs or lawns in shade generally require up to 50 percent less water than the same plants in full sun. Adjust your watering schedule to account for the different microclimates in your garden. Check out our NEW Lawn & Landscape Watering Schedule (PDF) for recommended watering schedules for sprinklers and drip. Also, we have resources available on plants for dryshade if you’re looking for even more ways to use water efficiently!

Car Wash Coupons
The average homeowner uses more than 100 gallons of water to wash a car, while the average car wash that recycles water uses less than 30 gallons per car. By using a Smart Wash Car Wash you save water as well as prevent several pollutants from going into our local creeks and Bay Delta. We’ve partnered with a group of car wash businesses that recycle the majority of their wash water through advanced on-site filtration technologies. These "Smart Wash" car washes care about the environment and are doing something about it.
