The month of May is very special to me. May for me stands for M.O.M. - Motivators On the Move! Motherhood a continuous journey of love, challenges, and reflections and is one of the best duties I've been assigned. Motherhood to me is the true embodiment and beauty of ultimate strength.
From Mothers to Grandmothers, God-mothers, and what I call Auntie-moms - each has the innate ability to be courageous and fearless caretakers who sacrifice their own needs for others. Protection, growth, development, empowerment, and in reflection, sometimes fear, pain, challenges, worry, and doubt arise. As mother’s, we teach from the bosoms of our souls. Bringing forth lessons in life in most cases mirroring what has been taught generations before. Motherhood is the ultimate act of courage and selflessness as we carry on each day.
As philanthropists, we take on a similar role of nurturers and protectors in our communities. We are courageous and strong for humanity - leading with love donating time, talents, treasure, and testimony for the betterment of others. This opportunity exists even for those who are not mothers. As philanthropists, the desire to carry forth the tradition of giving with a mark of honor in hopes of a better tomorrow with a vision to build a stronger generation of givers to come. This desire reflects the legacy of the Community Investment Network, which is to invest, create, connect, support, and leverage our circles of influence. So even if you are not a mother, think about how you can be the ultimate M.O.M. in your community with your philanthropic goals this year! Onward and upwards!
