The Building Automation is one of the thrust areas. IP500 passed Pre-Conformity

The IP500 Alliance has performed and passed the “Pre-Conformity Tests for Intrusion” at the VdS Labs in Cologne, Germany.
The IP500 Alliance Technical Working Group and the VdS department for Security / Intrusion has worked closely together for over 4 years to define and establish the most robust and secure wireless IoT network for Security / Intrusion applications, according to the European Norm EN 50131-5-3, focused on industrial and commercial buildings.
“The IP500 team has accomplished, with the currently available IP500 CNX200 RF Module, the world´s first and most secure wireless IoT network platform for PAN (Personal Area Network), based on “True Dual-Band (SubGHz & 2.4GHz)” in a full scalable “IPv6 based A-Synch Meshing Topology” This includes specific network functions to make the IP500 Standard the only IoT solution with such a high wireless network performance at highest security level, said Markus Link, CTO of IP500 Alliance”.
This accomplishment has strengthened the global position of IP500 for building automation applications as the IoT wireless PAN platform! The IP500 Alliance and SMK have announced the availability of the IP500 CNX200 Dev-kit with the specific features of the VdS tested functions, as well as the user-interface for demonstrating the meshing / hopping scheme.

The IP500 Board welcomes the following new Members:
Trilux is a leading provider of lighting solutions for industrial and commercial objects, as well as large facilities and smart cities applications. Trilux will announce IP500 connected solutions to enable smart lighting systems with interoperability to access control and other IP500 network solutions.
 Siganet is a leading planner for electrical and IoT applications focusing on large installation in industrial and government buildings, as well as large office objects. Siganet will focus to establish an IP500 working group to support planners, architects and system integrators in their planning process (incl. BIM) and in the installation of various sensors and actuators in the same IP500 Infrastructure, which means highest scalability and lowest cost of ownership.
IP500 Rep in South America
Patrick Knoedler has accepted the position as the representative (REP) for the IP500 Alliance in South America. He is based in Colombia and he has already started his active work is Colombia. Patrick focus on smart industry, office and city projects with local decision makers. The translation of the IP500 specific web-sites pages and some documents in Spanish will help to address all Spanish speaking countries.
IP500 Board Members
At the last IP500 Main Meeting a new IP500 Board was suggested and voted. As soon as the office registration process has been accomplished the new IP500 Board members will be officially announced visible on the IP500 Web-Site.

The IP500 Web-Site Member Area has been launched and updated with the newest IP500 RF module & infrastructure documents and technical specifications, as well as SmartBuilding & Office project description and the VdS test results for IP500 pre-conformity of the IP500 CNX200 Module, according to the EN 50131-5-3.

IP500 Main Meeting & Exhibition
The IP500 Main Meeting in Berlin on 24th and 25th of April was a great success. Also potential new Members participated the Main Meeting, incl. TRILUX (already joint) and Novoferm. The presentations by Holger Wallmeier (siganet & host of meeting) to announce the IP500 Working Group for Planners, System Integrators and Installers, as well as the announcement of the VdS Conformity were the high light of the meeting, Please read more in the IP500 Member Area.
