The initiative will reduce administrative burden on our clinical research teams, allowing them to spend more time to care for study participants. Ultimately, Embark will enable us to conduct more clinical trials and discover new treatments and cures. All URMC community members who are involved in clinical research are encouraged to attend the upcoming Discover Embark event to learn more. Email the Embark team with any questions.

June is Men’s Health Month
Sponsored by Men’s Health Network since 1992, Men’s Health Month focuses on preventable illness among men and boys. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimate that men die at higher rates than women from nine of the top ten causes of death in the U.S., and veterans are at a higher risk of prostate cancer than the general population. Visit RocHealthData to see the change in prostate cancer by county, the veteran population and by census tract.

TIN Webinar:
Financial Sustainability of Centralized Support at an Academic Health Center
Presented by: Kate Marusina, Ph.D., M.B.A., UC Davis
Centralized clinical trials management is a relatively new phenomenon for academic health centers where clinical research is typically conducted by individual investigators with decentralized study teams. Comprehensive support to investigator-initiated trials must include access to clinical research coordinators, regulatory assistance, budgets and contract negotiation, data entry and other clinical research activities.
This presentation describes the structure and functions of centralized clinical trial support and implementation of various recharge models and methodologies for measuring true costs of clinical research projects. Register.
Date: Monday, June 3
Time: 12:00 – 1:00 pm
