Help Spread the Word

The Adams County Foundation is holding an e-bike raffle to raise funds for Homes for Hope. Tickets are $25, and put participants in the running to win a GIANT 19 Quick E+ Electric Bike, which is capable of speeds up to 30 MPH. If you haven't ridden an e-bike before, take a visit to your local bike shop for a test ride. E-Bikes are fun. A lot of fun.

The raffle will close at midnight on June 20, with a winner to be selected on June 21 - just days ahead of Bike to Work Day. So act fast - tickets are a low $25, and benefit a worthy cause in the community.

E-Bikes are a great way to make a long commute bikeable, as well as make hills easier to tackle. While bicyclists always need to follow speed restrictions on roads and trails, e-bikes allow their riders to conserve energy with features like pedal assist.

Enter the Raffle

Smart Commute is partnering with the Simple Steps. Better Air. program of the Regional Air Quality Council to reduce car trips in the north metro and improve air quality in the entire Denver metropolitan area. We hope you join us.

It’s as simple as skipping two car trips a week to help limit emissions and ground-level ozone, a harmful pollutant. Combining errand trips, packing a lunch instead of driving, carpooling or taking the bus or train instead of your vehicle are fantastic ways to make a positive impact.

Here’s what you do: Take a photo (or record a short video) showing how you skipped a car trip and post it on social media using “#JustSkip2”. Make sure to challenge someone else in your post to #JustSkip2 (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook) so we pass it on and keep the conversation going.

Bike to Work Day is coming up fast - Wednesday, June 26. From morning until night, there will be a lot to do - so get prepared for your ride now.

Sixth Annual Bike Party at The Orchard

Smart Commute has partnered with The Orchard Town Center to host an evening Bike Party for years now. This year, we've burned the midnight oil to make this party the best yet! New features include:

REI kids bike safety demo. This demo is a shorter version of REI's kids bike course, and during a thirty-minute session REI staff will work directly with kids, and will help parents to understand how to help their little one learn the basic first steps of learning to ride a bike. Spaces will be limited in each session, and there will be three sessions. Families should plan to bring bikes and helmets for their children.
Slow Bike Race. Adults can compete head-to-head to be the last cyclist to cross the finish line. This "race" takes a lot of skills, and touching down and back-pedaling disqualify participants (for an automatic victory for their competitor). Bring your own bike and helmet to compete for prizes!
Live prizing. Participants will be able to walk away from our party with the prizes they want most, with distributions happening at 5:45, 6:15, and 6:45. Participants will be able to enter for their top prizes, ensuring that all winners are taking home a prize that they value.
Fire Trucks and Fire-Fighters. We'll have North Metro Fire Rescue on site with a fire truck, and with general information about safety.

In addition to these new features, the bike party will feature the same fun: face painting and live music, vendors with fun, interactive activities, and great discounts on dining and shopping. Keep track of all the fun on Smart Commute's website.

E.B Rains Jr. Memorial Park Breakfast Station - sponsored by the City of Northglenn and located at EB Rains Park (Grant south of 120th Avenue).
St. Anthony North Health Campus - back for its fourth year, located at 144th and I-25, on the southwest corner.
Welby Super Station - back for a second year thanks to our friends at ACED, this station at the confluence of the Platte River and Clear Creek Trails is always busy and fun.
New 8 8th and South Platte Trail Breakfast Station - located at the trailhead off 88th and Colorado, this station will serve Thornton residents, along with anyone wanting to start their commute directly at the trail.
New H eritage Trail Station - located at Heritage Park, this station will support north Thornton residents.
New Brighton Breakfast Station - supporting bike commuters in the City of Brighton.
Plus over a half-dozen stations in Longmont alone.

This summer, CDOT is bringing planning efforts together to create "Your Transportation Plan" that identifies a 10-year strategic pipeline of projects, inclusive of all modes, informed both by a data-driven needs assessment and public and stakeholder input.
