What's Growing on at the Arboretum?
It's been so nice to have a few sunny days finally and we can tell the flowers and plants are happy about the change in weather too! Right now, the Hillside Welcome Garden is looking wonderful with peonies and lilacs budding. If you haven't made a trip out to the Arboretum, now is a great time to plan a fun weekend visit.

Come enjoy a night of elegance and help us build the garden of the seasons at Moonlight & Roses
Moonlight & Roses is a special fundraiser held later in the night at the Arboretum. Our event will take place starting at 6:00 on Saturday, June 15th. This year, Moonlight & Roses will feature music from local jazz band, Night Mayor, food catered from Martha & Ivan's Catering and Bakery, and a wonderful variety of wines to enjoy throughout the night. We will also be sharing information about the Garden of the Seasons with proceeds from this event being used to help us purchase plants for each plot.

The Garden of seasons will be divided into plots with plants that flourish in Iowa throughout the different seasons and will be a fantastic resource for homeowners, landscapers, or anyone with an interest in increasing their curb appeal all year round. Phase one of this project was completed in 2018 with the help of many volunteers and we hope that you will join us to help bring this garden to life!

Tickets are $65 for non-members and $55 for members. Purchase your tickets online by visiting http://www.cedarvalleyarboretum.org/events/ticketed-events-fundraisers/moonlight-roses/, emailing the office, or by calling 319-226-4966

Shakespeare in the Gardens: As You Like It

Meanwhile, Orlando fights for his share his father’s estate from a sibling who reportedly treats him like the hired help. These hapless creatures and their companions escape into the Forest of Arden into a world of great adventure and possibility and love. Shakespeare’s pastoral comedy juxtaposes uptight court life against simple country life in a comedic examination of power, love, and familial responsibility.
