Western Sales Company Newsletter

June | 2019 Issue

Hello and Happy June! Ah, June. You know what we think of when June comes around? Product literature, of course. On a whim – a well thought-out, skillfully planned whim – we thought we would theme this newsletter "Lit Picks" and make sure you're up to speed on of the literature-related sales tools offered by your very favorite manufacturers (ours, natch).

Here are your "I don't have time for this" highlights:

  • Our Lit Picks from your favorite manufacturers
  • Top 5 reasons to sell American Standard toilets
  • Info on American Standard SpaLets
  • Monthly Training Video: Avery Kitchen Sinks

Let's get to reading.

American Standard

Top 5 Reasons to Sell American Standard Toilets | There are a lot of reasons to sell American Standard toilets, but we'll stick to the top 5. Spoiler Alert: It's because they're the best. Take a look at this flyer, and if you're not convinced, your Western rep will have to stop by and give you the other 137 reasons (fair warning). Download here.

American Standard SpaLets | Speaking of the Top 5 reasons – here's 5 more for why you should sell American Standard SpaLets:
  • MaP protected
  • Three-year warranty
  • All models have separate nozzles for front and rear wash for improved hygiene
  • Models for every application, from integrated bidet toilet to a manual version
How many was that? Four?
  • You'll make us look good to our Benevolent Overlords.
There – that's five. Learn more about American Standard's SpaLet products here.

Our American Standard Lit Picks | And lastly, we can't forget about our newsletter theme: brochures. American Standard offers 1.37 bazillion different pieces of literature (many of which aren't "showroom material"), so we thought we would narrow it down for you. Here are our American Standard brochure recommendations, though there's a rumor that additional fantastic brochures will be available soon:

DXV

Our DXV Lit Picks | DXV is so beautiful – not exactly a jaw-dropping selection of literature however. But there's a few nice pieces available that we recommend, and here they are.

Grohe

Our Grohe Lit Picks | Grohe has some brand new literature out now, which is very exciting (and very helpful when it comes to selling Grohe). You can check out what's available in the links below.

Amber's June Swoon

Did you know that the most tech-savvy shower you could possibly ever desire is actually from Steamist, your favorite steam brand? I know. So let me tell you all about ShowerSense, the shower system that is about to become your favorite thing to sell!

We’ve all heard the complaint about putting too much “stuff” on the shower walls. "How many functions do you want? That’ll be three volume controls please. Oh wait, don’t forget diverters. It  only comes in Chrome…Sorry, that’s not CEC compliant.” SOUND FAMILIAR? Guess what – the ShowerSense valve, paired with the oh-so-sexy 550 controller (in specialty finishes, whaaaa…..?!?) is the answer to all your shower problems. The controller and valve comes CEC compliant in the box, eliminates all extra diverters, valves, and knobs on the wall, has a whole slew of finish options for the traditional controller, as well as sleek white or black accents on the modern versions, and best yet, allows for multiple functions that can be programed to the user's preference for up to two users. DID YOU HEAR ME??? TWO USERS! That means no more altering one person's desired temp setting for that morning shower, just so the other user can enjoy their dream shower.

By the way, ShowerSense can installed as part of a deluxe steam shower system, or entirely on its own – whatever your client wants. Relax, restore, renew your hearts out…

MTI

Our MTI Lit Picks | MTI brochures make us positively swoon. We don't even care if the info is useful (which of course it is), because those pictures and layouts are so breathtakingly pretty. They will help you sell a multi-thousand dollar tub to your client, that's for sure. And there's a brochure for every collection, from Basics to Boutique. Check out MTI's available brochures and see the beauty (and usefulness) below.

Geberit

Our Geberit Lit Picks | Geberit is phenomenal at almost everything (it would be beneath us to mention "availability of matte finishes," so we won't) – and their brochures are no exception. The "Choice Is Yours" brochure, for example isn't just beautiful – it also features life-sized actuator pictures so your client will know exactly how the actuator will look on their wall. Check it out and our other recommendations here:
American Standard launched gorgeous fireclay sinks in April as part of the Avery collection. Here's Gray with your top five reasons to learn, love, sell.

Steamist

Our Steamist Lit Picks | Steamist doesn't have a ton of literature, but a surprisingly useful sales tool is the price book (and yes – last we heard, 2017 is still the latest pricing). There's lots of really good sales information and pretty pictures in there – not just list prices. But of course there's also a fantastic little handout if the price book is too much of a good thing.

Trim to the Trade

Our Trim to the Trade Lit Picks | Trim to the Trade (and Plumbing Products) just released these a few months ago, so these brochures are the latest and greatest. And the only ones available. But mostly latest and greatest. If you haven't looked at Trim to the Trade and Plumbing Product's offering lately, we think you'll be impressed.
By the way...

If you liked our Lit Picks, you can order some of your very own from our literature page.

Tom's Tech Tip: American Standard SpaLets

Did you read about our top 5 reasons to sell SpaLet bidet seats in the American Standard section above? If not, go back and check them out. They're very important, especially the fifth reason. (But seriously...)

I'm excited about SpaLets. Besides offering all of the features your clients look for in a bidet seat or integrated bidet toilet, the MaP protection, dual-nozzle system, and three-year warranty make the SpaLet an industry game-changer.

If you plumbing snobs (you know who you are) were unimpressed by the "first gen" heated-water-tank SpaLet models that came out a couple of years ago – I hear you. I'm Mr. Plumbing Snob and pretty quick to call the baby ugly/"too high profile" (that's why I'm so "popular" at all of the national sales meetings). But all of the SpaLets that were/will be released this year are the sleekest, most low-profile in the industry.

These are the models I like/recommend and why (in addition to all of the reasons listed above):
  • Advanced Clean 100: an attractive, competitively priced integrated bidet toilet with exclusive technologies
  • Advanced Clean 3.0 (coming sometime in June, I've been told): the luxury model for the client that wants it all (I have an early prototype in my bathroom so I can personally recommend it)
  • AquaWash 2.0: An extremely approachable, sleek entry-level model with manual control but with heated water and seat
  • AquaWash 1.0: Cold-water only, making a bidet seat possible even without electricity
By the way, you might be surprised to learn that while SpaLets are new-ish to American Standard, parent company LIXIL actually pioneered the bidet seat category and have been making bidet seats for more than 50 years.

In other words, they're pretty good at it.

Thanks, Tom S

Question: As mentioned above, the AC 100 offers exclusive technologies, including one called Plasmacluster technology. According to the information in this launch presentation, what does this technology do?
