Dear Colleagues,

The 18th Annual NorthAmerican Basic Income Guarantee Congress is just two weeks away and we're excited to meet you in New York City!

A small number of seats are still available, but registration is required. If you haven't yet (or know someone else who may want to attend) please register now before it's too late.

Basic Income on the Policy Agenda: Financing and Policy Options

If you arrive in New York City a little early, please join us Friday evening for the Pre-Congress Panel Discussion and Reception at the Roosevelt House. The event is free, but Congress registration required. Participants include Max Ghenis Open UBI; Sheila Regehr, BICN; and Christina Jenq, NYU Shanghai. Moderated by Michael Lewis, Silberman School of Social Work, Hunter College.

Humans of Basic Income is a portrait series documenting the stories of participants in 2017's Ontario Basic Income Pilot. Photographer Jessie Golem, herself a participant in the prematurely cancelled program, created this portrait series by finding and capturing participant stories in their own words.

And so much more! Discussions on modern monetary theory and financing basic income, social and caregiving work, advocacy and framing of basic income, the left debate on job guarantee and guaranteed income, discussions on the direction of basic income research.  A film screening will also be held on Saturday at 5 PM, introducing people who are unfamiliar with universal basic income to the topic.
